There’s no handheld aiming and no operator fatigue: the patient looks directly into the light-and-sound fixation target, one touch starts the capture, and the binocular measurement — sphere, cylinder, axis, pupil diameter, and pupillary distance — appears on the 3.97-inch touch screen in under a second. The unit even supports self-measurement, which matters when one nurse is screening an entire school grade.
As a triage instrument, the VS-T reads beyond refraction. It flags strabismus, anisocoria, anisometropia, fixation asymmetry, and abnormal light reflex — the risk factors clinicians use to decide which children need a full exam for amblyopia.
