The SL-D701 is a Galileo-type digital slit lamp built for daily specialist use, with a five-step magnification drum delivering 6×, 10×, 16×, 25× and 40× and 12.5× eyepieces on parallel binocular tubes (PD adjustable 55–78mm, diopter −5D to +5D). Apochromatic optics with a protective coating sharpen observation while reducing eye fatigue and maintenance.
LED illumination provides brighter, more homogeneous light than a conventional halogen source, holding consistent color temperature across the full intensity range so image results stay stable. The short LED wavelength helps resolve subtle detail in the anterior chamber and vitreous, useful when assessing flare and inflammation. Slit width adjusts from 0 to 14mm and slit length from 14mm to 1mm, with aperture diameters of ø14, 10, 5, 2, 1 and 0.2mm and slit inclination at 5°/10°/15°/20° plus side swing.
Filtration covers cobalt blue, red-free, ND (13% transmission) and UV cut, plus a color-correction amber filter that warms skin and eye-structure tones for more natural slit-lamp imaging. In photography mode the SL-D701 automatically recognizes and tags right or left eye in the capture software. An optional Blue Free Filter (factory option) delivers roughly 1.6× brighter fluorescein observation than the standard cobalt filter, with less glare and pooling.
Configured with the optional DC-4 5-megapixel digital camera, the SL-D701 becomes a full digital imaging station. The DC-4 adds Smart Capture—a joystick-triggered burst that minimizes failed or blurry frames in children and non-cooperative patients—along with Still Image Auto Exposure, live view via EZ Capture or IMAGEnet software, and video capability. Paired further with the optional BG-5 background illuminator, the system supports meibomian gland observation and documentation.
The base unit provides 90mm forward-backward, 100mm right-left and 30mm vertical travel, with 12mm of fine movement in all directions and an 80mm chinrest range with diopter-adjustable and luminous fixation targets. It runs on 100–240V AC, 50–60Hz. This unit is supplied factory refurbished and backed by a one-year warranty.
